Schuyler Van Alen wants an explanation for the mysterious deaths of young vampires. With her best friend, Oliver, Schuyler travels to Italy in the hope of finding the one man who can help—her grandfather. Meanwhile, back in New York, preparations are feverishly underway for the Four Hundred Ball, an exclusive gala hosted by the city’s wealthy, powerful, and unhuman—a true Blue Blood affair.
But it’s at the after-party, a masquerade ball thrown by the cunning Mimi Force, that the real danger lurks. Hidden behind the masks is a revelation that will forever change the course of a young vampire’s destiny.
Rich with glamour, attitude, and vampire lore, this second installment in the Blue Bloods saga will leave readers thirsting for more.
Schuyler and her human friend Oliver run all over Italy in search of her uncle trying to adhere to Sky’s grandmothers wishes. Only to find him and not get what they are seeking. More Blue Bloods are being killed, and with the upcoming 400 Hundred Ball the vampires are getting dolled up. The teens decided to throw their own after party where masks are all the rage. Sky gets kissed by someone under a mask and has little idea who it could be hoping it’s a certain vampire. Sky also learns she is running out of time, she needs a human consort or she could wind up in the same fate as her mother. Coma ridden. This book series definitely captivated me, You can feel love in the air, just on the brink but unobtainable. I really enjoyed seeing Sky and her Grandfather bond even if it was over vampire lessons. You learn more about the Van Alen storyline and who lies where. Melissa De La Cruz offers more and more with each book.
